Snapchat Social Media Marketing For Your Business or Auto Dealership Is A Must! 6 Tips For Business Snapchat Success!

Ok! So admittedly I definitely was not a huge fan of snapchat. It really seemed to be a platform that I found confusing and really not friendly. At a first glance I found the platform confusing to use and all the swipes just overwhelmed me.

The deciding moment for me was it seemed people were just there and we all know that if you are in marketing or marketing for a company, you need to go where the people are and most of all, engage with them! Over the last few weeks I have been leveraging my Instagram account to build my snapchat following. I can honestly say that snapchat has took over as of late. The number one reason: ENGAGEMENT!

In any social media platform whether it is used for an automotive dealership or a dental office, engagement is everything as it allows you to connect with your previous, current and new clients! I predict snapchat will be a game changer and therefore is a must for any digital marketing strategy aimed at engaging with clients and customers!

A few observations and tips for snapchat:

  1. Syndicate your snapchat code on ALL your other social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, instagram and YouTube
  2. Don’t be shy and simply snap moments from your every day life
  3. Make a point to comment and chat with other snapchat users daily snaps
  4. Bring your company’s personality to the forefront by snapping behind the scenes and normal everyday things
  5. Be patient and check out some “how to” snapchat tutorial videos
  6. Have fun!

As always’s if you have any questions or are a business looking to step up your digital marketing strategy or social media, contact me here.

Periscope: Change in Digital Marketing Communication and Mobile User Preference Especially In The Automotive Sector | Pros & Cons

Yes, Periscope is fairly new with about a 100 million users and slightly over one year old. This live streaming video service is a complete game changer. Just when we thought that mobile usage was already crazy, studies have shown that people seem to be living in their screens more then their own life and Periscope just takes it one step further. I would be foolish to not mention other live video streaming services such as Meerkat and Blab.

Literally being able to see people’s lives through their eyes, or should I say mobile phones is what Periscope offers. Not only is this amazing, but it is absolutely a huge marketing tool to connect and get in front of the right customer. Whether you are a tour guide and want to build a following using Periscope to give your virtual customer a tour of some of the most sought after places in the world or you are an auto dealership that is taking your “new owner nights” to epic proportions by sending out a friendly email to your customer data base through CRM that invites them to tune in as you will be showing them some basic car maintenance pointers, Periscope offers you endless options and in real-time.

Here are some basic pros and cons of live streaming with Periscope:

Pros:

1. LIVE and immediate interaction with your audience
2. Fun and highly addictive
3. Offers ability for you to have your own live virtual tv channel
4. Provides a platform for you to repurpose all of your content and use Periscope to put the little sprinkle on top
5. Immediate gratification

Cons:

1. USES a ton of data and battery power if not connected to Wifi
2. Not as popular in certain geographic areas. (Again, as an early adopter, this app is growing and becoming more and more prominent as live video streaming is here to stay.)
3. Certain functionalities of the app need improving like stopping the broadcast and switching the screen around
4. May cause a little anxiousness for people who are camera-shy but also kind of a good thing as it is good practice for you to dominate the stage!

As you can see, this app is worth checking out and giving it a whirl! I can tell you that doing a few scopes here and there has provided a increase to my blog subscribers and my overall digital footprint. Please check out the app and see what it can do for you and your business!

Why Periscope Is A Must Digital Marketing Tool For Automotive Dealers in Canada!

PeriscopeImage

Bringing on the New year means having more digital marketing tools at your fingertips for auto dealers! Periscope which is a tool I was very uncertain about has won me over in an extreme way, so much that I did a automotive marketing workshop for The Motor Dealers Association of Alberta to cap off an amazing 2015! Reason I love Periscope is because of it’s instant capability to connect with people via your smartphone LIVE. As I was testing out Periscope, I was immediately addicted as I could watch live events, people completely wasting time or some dude smoking grass in Los Angeles, all with a click of a button!

That being said, Periscope is a data waster as roughly 30 minutes of a live periscope could set you back about 400 megabytes worth of data so unless you have an amazing data plan for your smart phone, I would test the waters while hooked up to wifi. The downside to this I can assure you is some of life’s greatest moments and experiences don’t happen on wifi, so you may find yourself pulling out your phone to catch all that stuff on Periscope. Not to be worries as I am sure periscope is working frantically to make their platform a little more efficient, but when you are streaming live video, it is what it is!

Auto Dealers can make use of Periscope by:

1. Vehicle walk arounds on new inventory
2. Behind the scenes of what really happens at a dealership such as pricing, staff training and service!
3. Can host new owner nights allowing past, present and future customers the ability to get educated on basic vehicle maintenance or the benefit of one of those lovely pro packs!
4. A virtual test drive allowing your audience to perhaps see that brand new Ford mustang or newly released vehicle that is not yet open to the general public.
5. How a car deal is actually done and what exactly the process is depending on the dealers level of transparency.

2016 is the year that General Managers, Sales managers and marketing personnel will have to shift their mindset in order to shift into a gear that will keep up with the customer. I really think that we are in exciting times with the technology that is literally at our fingertips!

Visit the iTunes app store or Google Play store to download the app and get your first scope going! Once you do, follow me @ryanholtz1 so I can tap the screen and show you some love!

If you have periscope, I would love to know what you think! Drop me a line here.

Marketing Gap Between The Best And The Rest is Widening For Businesses…..Including Car Dealerships, Jewelry Stores and Realtors!

Amazing! In the last month I have had client acquisitions and so many great conversations with brilliant minds. We have noticed that customers and clients have educated themselves even more! The playing field for business and audience is completely level, so much that the prospective client is choosing whether or not to allow access. On demand, on time and on point is the expectation. What I love is the client is now the auditor of performance, which it always should have been. Clients are keeping their marketing team honest and to a high standard!

Whether you are a car dealership, jewelry store owner or Realtor, the field is dead even and the deciding factor is held all within the client’s control.

My questions to you is: What are you doing to get better OR How are you taking advantage of this amazing opportunity to reach so many people with a few clicks!

I get asked this question ALL the time! It is a great question, small businesses are to small to be big and to big to be small which puts you in that small tiny lonely place! Internet Marketing And Cooking Make The Perfect Couple!

Photo 2015-04-18, 2 57 23 PM
With cooking, we all have taste buds that chefs capitalize on by using ingredients that will ignite emotion, reaction and taste! When you sit down to have a nice meal, you are anxious for that plate to come. The first subconscious emotion that is ignited is what you see. Presentation such as the food layout on the plate allows your senses to organize and give focus to each one. The second emotion that ignites is smell, sometimes this may come before the vision, but you get my drift.

As humans we do judge a book by it’s cover and perception is reality in some cases. Even though that food may have an incredible taste, if it looks like garbage and laid out all over the place, we will often dismiss it and be totally turned off.

Marketing is no different in that whatever we are trying to “market” not only should be clear, beautifully laid out, but also be of substance and a clear message. It is simple, we are trying to get the attention of a person and therefore need to first understand what that person wants and sometimes try and figure their wants before they do. This is a science of psychology and should be thought about before we get into the kitchen whether it be to create a palette dripping worthy plate or an amazing remarkable specific marketing campaign.

What wets your palette? Would love to know!

aSK ME Any Questions About Marketing or Social Media AND I will Answer! Helping you gain momentum with your business digital marketing goals!

RH-ASKME

Hey! Glad you stopped by and hope you have a question to ASK ME! I love what I do as the proud owner of my company. Furthermore, I love helping and educating people who own businesses or simply looking to brand themselves. Search Marketing For Your 2015 Auto Dealership Digital Marketing Strategy…Grab a Coffee And Enjoy!

Touch ID, swipe to Google and enter your long tail search all of course from your smart phone. These are the first actions a car buyer takes on their “discovery” journey to find that perfect vehicle for their needs.

Depending on the research stage that the car buyer is in, often depends how deep they are searching. For example, if I am the customer and have recently decided that I am in the market for a car, I may do a “fat head” search like Toyota and then proceed to check out different models and options that Toyota offers. Now, assuming I am the same customer, I may have progressed in my reasearch and “discovery” stages and now am doing a long tail search like ”Toyota Rav 4 Edmonton” or “Chevrolet Silverado Double Cab Calgary”. It is imperative that as an auto dealer, you are understanding what your customers are searching and better yet, understanding that your   customers are getting much more sophisticated and detailed in their search. So many auto dealers are allocating huge budgets into purchasing “fat head” keywords like “Edmonton Ford” or “Calgary Toyota”. The reason these are so high in price is that you are competing with your competitors for these same words and is no different then a used car manager going to the auction and bidding on a unit and lands up paying too much because the bid went so high. Supply and demand.

Here are some tips to help you maximize your search marketing efforts to make sure your potential car buyer can find you for a price that does not break your bank:

Tips:

1. Pick a monthly budget that you want to spend.

2. Assign your search marketing efforts to a staff member who has knowledge in this subject OR hire a consultant such as myself ;) (Honestly though, you will save yourself money and see much better results if you have someone who is educated in this field.)

3. Use a keyword tool, you can google “keyword tools” and there are plenty of free options out there along with Google’s own in house tool. This is a great tip especially when writing content rich copy to help with your seo and organic search results.

4. Monitor your search marketing and pay per click campaign progress weekly and atleast monthly as you will constantly be making tweaks and changes to your strategy.

5. Actually take action on this and make valid effort to incorporate this as part of your auto dealership digital marketing strategy.

I am going to stop this blog here and I will be back with a much more in depth post about search marketing and how you can kill it with your dealership efforts! For now, this will help provoke some thought.

Twitter Makes Deal With Google To Show Tweets In Search Results…..

(null)

Search engine optimization just got a little better! With this exciting announcement of Twitter and Google coming to terms on an agreement to have tweets show up in search results, this just made online search and the power of social media a little better!

We all know Twitter is a viral and amazing tool to have conversation and document and tell a story of what you are doing or better yet, how your product or service can help a potential customer. I have always liked Twitter for it’s quick and relevant information often providing the world with breaking news before the traditional media such as tv, radio and newspaper does!

If you are not tweeting, you may want to think about firing up a twitter account as this will help your online visibility and efforts. Being a marketing consultant based in Edmonton, but having clients all over Canada, it is imperative to always have my eye on the pulse to ensure we are keeping up with the change!
