Help A Child Pursue Their Dreams!

I started this small concept a few years ago when I was in a position to give back and help out. #Dreams4Kids is a name I chose as it really illustrates the concept. I myself come from a very humble beginning and with the help of coaches, teachers, friends, family and mentors I managed to pursue my dreams. Sports in particular, football was a sole purpose for keeping me on track in my teenage years and ultimately providing a goal and purpose. To this day, many of those same lessons I have brought into my own life both personally and professionally.

What is #Dreams4Kids?

Great question! It is not a registered charity (yet), nor will you get a tax receipt. It is simply one young edmontonian trying to do what he can by raising money and helping pay for childrens hockey, football, gymnastics, figure skating, whatever! The SOLE purpose is to help families who may be going through tough times provide their children the gift of opportunity through sport, performing arts or personal goals.

Who Qualifies?

A family or single parent who has a child willing to put in the effort, but just needs a little help whether it be a piece of hockey equipment or help with registration!

How Much Do We Have To Donate?

Anything. $10 or simply a set of skates

How Do We Get In Touch?

Edmonton Journal | Personal Branding The Key To Business Success, Say Edmonton-Area Entrepeneurs

Screenshot 2014-12-19 08.45.33Marketing and business has truly changed and evolved over the last few years in a BIG way! I remember the days when I worked for someone and the company preached nobody is bigger than the brand. Today, that still may be true, but connecting with your customers has never been so important. I have never heard a customer or client say: “Today I had such an amazing conversation with Mr/Mrs brand.” Behind that brand is a human and psychologically we all want to talk and share thoughts with each other.

Fast forward to 2014 and we have companies and brands marketing through their employees personal brand and also reaching out for brand ambassadors. After all, if a customer said to another friend how awesome your company is, don’t you think the chances of that person wanting to do business with you automatically increases? I do!

Jodie Sinnema wrote this amazing Edmonton Journal Article featuring myself alongside Naheed from Boston Pizza, Nora from Monjeloco Jeans (Featured On CBC’s Dragons Den) and Cory from tribute lounge. In the article, she asks everyone how personal branding has helped achieve their desired success. I do not want to give much away, but go read the article! If you are in business and looking for creativity, this is a must read!

I will end off by saying marketing has never been cheaper and more cost effective. The cost of customer acqusitiion equals sweat equity and relationship building. There is no easy way. Hard work, passion, strategy and enthusiasm will get you off to a great start.

What do you think of personal branding? How has it helped your business?

Holtz MDA Calgary Workshop on “26 Car Buyer Touch Points On Path To Purchase According To Google”

What a great way to end off a week leading up to Christmas with some AMAZING Calgary and area auto dealers! This past Friday, I did a workshop in partnership with The Motor Dealers Association Of Alberta that was called “26 Touch Points On The Path To Purchase According To Google” in Calgary.

I am always excited to host a workshop as I get to talk digital marketing to my beloved automotive peeps! I love auto and I love marketing, so what a match made in heaven. I do not want to blab too long, but here are a couple staggering facts when it comes to customers who are looking to purchase a vehicle online and using the Internet to do their research!

Fact 1:

The average car buyer visits about 18 websites prior to stepping in a showroom!

Fact 2:

80% of car buyers found and narrowed it down to two dealers within the first 5 days!

Fact 3:

Canada leads the world in Google searches per person according to Google!

“I found this workshop amazing and am always excited to attend a Motor Dealers Association Of Alberta automotive marketing workshop when I hear Ryan Holtz will be teaching it.” said Caitlyn Young of Charlesglen Toyota in Calgary.

All in all this was a amazing workshop and a great topic to end off 2014 in a BIG WAY!

Stay tuned for 2015 as we are going to step it up in a big way!
